How many people will be in the group?
In general we will keep our group size to a manageable 6 to 8 people with one or two tour leaders.
What is included in the price of the trip
All meals, accommodation, guides and travel are included from the meeting point to the farewell departure as outlined in the individual itinerary. Travelers should budget some extra funds for personal items such as soft drinks, snacks, beer, wine, etc. Costs of airfare to and from the meeting points and any visas are not included in the price. For most US, Canadian and European citizens no visas are required. Passports are always required and it is the responsibility of each traveler to ensure that his/her passport is current and valid.
Do I need travel insurance?
It is a condition of joining any of our trips that you are insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). We also strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as all deposits paid are non-refundable. Please ensure that your insurer is aware of your itinerary and can agree to cover the activities being undertaken. You will then need to advise us of your policy details and complete an Insurance Declaration Form.
You are free to use the travel insurance company of your choice.
From personal experience, we can recommend ALLIANZ TRAVEL INSURANCE as an insurer offering travel insurance. We recommend either the Classic Plan or the Classic Plan with Trip Plus policies. Please refer to the 'Description of Coverage' for a summary of the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of the applicable Protection Plan. The website for this is www.allianztravelinsurance.com
CAMPBELL IRVINE DIRECT travel insurance is available to EU residents and will cover the majority of holidays. It has been designed to provide cover for activities normally excluded by other insurers such as trekking, mountain biking and climbing. The website for this is www.campbellirvinedirect.com
What should I bring?
After trip confirmation or at least 60 days prior to departure we will send you a detailed list of items to bring. Please note that for purposes of transport during the trip your personal luggage is limited to 15kg plus your daypack. During the hikes we will only be carrying daypacks.
Our trips are based on double occupancy but solo travelers are welcome. We will pair solo travelers together to share the double occupancy accommodation.
Each trip has a set itinerary. This itinerary is subject to change if conditions arise out of our control. This could happen in the case of inclement weather. We will still hike but may have to take alternate routes should inclement weather preclude a safe journey.
Frequently Asked Questions
What will the weather be like?
We generally travel and hike in areas during the most optimal weather conditions of the year. It would be our hope to walk in lightweight summer gear but please keep in mind that the weather and temperatures in any mountain terrain can be changeable. Therefore, it is important to have adequate warm and wet weather hiking clothes on hand at all times.
